FOND MEMORIES raced to the lead with a big loss of ground, crossed to the inside on the turn and held JABBERIE safe, but was shaken up several times in the Final quarter. JABBERIE, also quick to begin and under pressure throughout, could not get to the winner. BUSY MAE lost much ground on the turn and came with a rush in the final eighth. UVALDE showed an even effort. SIR MIDAS had no mishaps. ROYAL PRINCESS quit. MADCAP YANKEE, outrun from the start, lacked its usual late speed. PANDISCO bore out badly and was far back throughout. DARK PRINCE was shuffled back. BLUE HOUR forced the early pace under mild restraint, lost much ground when entering the stretch and, holding on well, outstayed CANTERON. ,The latter, well up from the start, also raced wide on the stretch turn and tired right at the end. WHISKARITA, taken back in close quarters early, was under strong pressure in the final five-sixteenths, but could not get up. HONORARY saved ground where possible, improved her position gradually and, finishing well, wore down PARISIAN WITCH in the closing strides. The latter showed the most speed from the start, readily submitted to the winner, but held on gamely in the last sixteenth before tiring. COPPER TUBE had no mishaps and held on well. ONSLAUGHT raced well. ACTDINE tired. JUDGE NEWMAN, forced to race wide, could not improve his position. RANICILLA, rank at the post where she was placed on the outside, began slowly. The latter, a factor from the start and on the outside throughout, stood pressure gamely, but could r.ot get up. HIP BOOTS, away slowly and raced very wide the final half mile, tired after nearing the leaders in the stretch. MORETIDE failed to keep up in the final quarter. RED GO lacked speed. THE DARB raced wide, bettered his position gradually and finished strongly. TRACKER, forced to lose ground throughout, showed good speed but tired in the closing stages. FREE SPIRIT showed speed in spots and was going boldly in the late stages. GARDEN MESSAGE, under pressure throughout, was slow to respond but finished fast. ONWENTSIA had no excuses. RED FLYER quit. CAL in the last fifty yards. The latter, sent to the lead with a rush on the turn and given a breathing spell when entering the stretch, held on gamely, but was not good enough. WATERCURE, a factor from the start, held on fairly well. SANDSTONE saved ground on the turn and Finished resolutely in a good effort. BLIND PIG tired in the drive. CALIBAN saved ground to the stretch, where he swerved out. VEEKS was near the middle of the track after the first quarter. FIRST PIGEON, in close quarters early and forced to ease up, was on the inside to the stretch, where she was taken out, took command inside the final eighth, but could not withstand the winner. RICIARDO, under mild reserve early, set the pace, but tired near the end. REGARDS, CABLEGRAM, GOLDEN QUEST and MR. JOE quit. MISS FLIP, taken back when forced wide early, was far back thereafter.
