BONNIE CAIN AKRON WINNER Canton Purse Heads Card Offered at : Northampton Jildac Rose Easily Best in Third Race. AKRON, Ohio, June 18. R. Ruoffs Bonnie Cain wrested the lead from Costlier while making the far turn and held his opponents safe thereafter in the Canton Purse, fifth event at Northampton Park this afternoon. Costlier always held Don Pablo safe for second place. Lady General led most of the distance in the Arkon Polo Club race, the sixth event, for gentlemen riders. Following the running a beautiful silver cup was presented to G. R. Galbreath, the winning rider. Although the weather threatened at intervals, the racing was staged over a fast track and a fairly good crowd attended. Jildac Rose outclassed her opposition in the third race, enjoying a commanding lead throughout. Birthday Gift, Dark Amber and Vendome also led at all stages of their respective races, the success of Dark Amber marking the third winner piloted by jockey J. Sylvester.
