PROPH TROPHY CANDIDATE Parrish Juvenile in Best Workout of Day at Latonia Chigre Gallops Three-Quarters. LATONIA, Ky., June 18. Performing over a slow and drying out track, J. W. Par-rishs Cincinnati Trophy candidate, Proph, was credited with the best workout of the day and gave proof of his fitness for the engagement Saturday afternoon at Latonia. Proph traversed five furlongs in 1:02, in a handy manner, one second faster than Bo- j hannon, another Trophy eligible from the ! Parrish barn, as the pair began together for the speed test in preparation for the Cincinnati Trophy, which calls for two-year-olds to compete at a distance of six furlongs for the first time here. In addition to the excellent trial credited to Proph, a chestnut son of High Time Marybelle, the colt has raced in impressive fashion, running a dead heat with Crows Flight and coming back .in his most recent start to win in easy fashion. It is probable that jockey Joe Cowley, who is riding in excellent form at present, will have the mount on Proph, as the Canadian boy was engaged several days ago by trainer Goode to pilot one of the Parrish standard bearers in the ,000 added stake. Hamilton C. Applegates Chigre, a winner in good company during the current meeting, was out for a speed test at six furlongs this morning and ran the required route in 1:21, in handy fashion. The Graceland Stock Farms Thurway, a maiden, was the only other eligible for the Cincinnati Trophy that worked, going five furlongs in 1:0S, handily. Heavy showers fell intermittently during the night and consequently the track was off for the workouts Thursday morning.
