Numerous applications have been forwarded to Strong stall reservations by owners and trainers here. S. J. Sharp reported he has placed Lastos back in training after a long lay-off and hopes to have the plater ready for racing before the close of the Latonia meeting. Sharp has four two-year-olds at Lexington that he will take up shortly, according to present plans. Several gentlemen riders will come from Louisville to ride in the race being arranged June 27 at the Milldale course as an added attraction. Nine races, including the event for gentlemen riders, will be staged on that date. Apprentice Tommy Dickinson was released from St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he ha3 been confined since last Saturday as the result of hemorrhage of the right eye after being hit in that optic with a clod. Dickinson plans to resume riding next Monday. Word was received by D. Foy that jockey Fernandez, who suffered a double fracture of a leg at Oriental Park during the winter, will be ready to return to the saddle during the Thistle Downs meeting. J. Graham Brown, prominent hostelry proprietor of Louisville, returned to that city after watching his Porcellus score a victory Wednesday at Latonia. The racer is being trained by former jockey Jimmy Smith. Grover Hughes left for Lexington to attend business matters. He plans to return Latonia before the close of the current meeting, July 4. F. P. Letellier is contemplating shipping horses and those he is training for various other persons to Arlington Park following the close of the Latonia meeting. Those comprising the stable are Marie Jean, Billbo, Squaw Lady, Indian Love, Azomis, Southland Beau, Golden Nut, Grey Squaw, Miss Lizzie and Little Drift. Apprentice Edward Heitz, Fort Thomas, youngster, made his initial appearance the season in colors when he rode Thistle Dina in the third and Royal Lad in the seventh race. The ankle injury suffered by Mack Garner the first race Wednesday was not serious. veteran reinsman resumed his work in saddle Thursday afternoon.
