DUFFERIN PARK NOTES $ Jockey Lou Machado arrived from New England and swung into action immediately. Racing secretary Charles F. Henry has received copies of the condition book embracing the first eleven days of racing at the Thistle Down racing association at North Randall, Ohio. The thirty-six day session commences July "7. Included in the conditions are several races under "plater purse" conditions, an innovation originated by Mr. Henry in which claiming platers are matched under allowances. For the final race of the meeting on Saturday at Dufferin, racing secretary Henry is asking platers to travel no less than two miles and one-sixteenth which will necessitate the horses passing the grandstand five times. The conditions of the race give the preference to horses which have finished first, second or third in the last three long races that have been held. Jockey R. Watson who has been vacationing at Muskoka since the close of the Long Branch meeting, reported on Thursday to George Alexandra, trainer of the J. E. Small man stable. Several small stables will leave for London, Ontario, at the close of the Dufferin Park meeting to await the opening of the London Turf Club summer meeting, beginning July 22. Jockey Danny Brammer informed Lloyd Gentry that he will be on hand to ride any of the Mrs. R. B. Fairbanks, L. Gentry or H. C. Hatch horses that are scheduled to perform opening day at Hamilton. Brammer has been visiting his parents in Iowa. George Foley acquired the promising home-bred two-year-old Tommy Rose, from the R. S. McLaughlin establishment, according to word received from Hamilton Thursday. Thomas Hare, secretary of the Metropolitan Racing Association, Ltd., will leave for London, Ont., early next week to make a tour of inspection of the London Turf Club at Queens Park where a meeting will be staged in July.
