" LATONIA TURF NOTES 1 Charles E. Gross, who is handling several horses for Clyde Van Dusen as well as for Mrs. E. A. Gross, has made arrangements to ship Brendard and Thatagal to Arlington Park where Van Dusen has the balance Of the Dixiana string. Gross will take Prince Dean, Peggy Torch, Dixie Flapper, Flaming Torch and Hy Sonny, owned by Van Dusen and Mrs. E. A. Gross Sweet Tody and Toneys Girl to Thistle Down. Reuben White, one of William Hamiltons assistant starters suffered the fracture of two ribs when he was knocked down by Saparoo a few days ago. The injury has been taped up and White is back at his post. The horses being trained by H. W. Ward got away for Arlington Park Friday night where they will be campaigned during the month of July. The horses included Wise Duke, Fairisk, Lookabout, Pottage, Flodus and an unnamed two-year-old colt, by Bos-tonian Grey Watch. Jockey Antonio Fernandez, Cuban reins-man, who has been riding in good form throughout the Latonia meeting, goes to Arlington Park Sunday, to fulfill an engagement in the Inaugural Stake at that Chicago course. He will have the mount on Visi- goth. Fernandez will return Monday night and will finish out the Latonia meeting: Bardstown, which broke down badly during the running of the fourth race Thursday, had to be destroyed. It was the horses initial start in two years. Kirby Ramsey is making arrangements to ship his horses and those he is training for W. L. Croan to Arlington Park, for the meeting at that point. The thoroughbreds under Ramseys supervision are Big Gawk, Silver Fleet, Bay Memor, Mucho Gusto, Celiba, John Tio, Rhine, Crowning Glory and Widow Star. The fractious post horse Deerwood, has been placed on the stewards list as the result of delaying the start several minutes with her antics in a recent start.
