THE FIGHTER HEADS THE LIST May Be Starting Top Weight in Arlington Inaugural Handicap Big Feld Expected. ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., June 26. A large field is expected to go postward in the Arlington Inaugural Handicap, seven-furlong event with ,500 added, which tops the opening program here Monday, according to a canvass of the eligibles today. The Fighter, three-year-old in the Milky Way Farm Stable", may be the starting high-weight with an impost of 118 pounds, as Roman Soldier and Whopper, the only two rated over him, are engaged elsewhere. The Bomar Stables Billy Bee is likely to accept and there is a chance St. Bernard may run back after his Hawthorne engagement Saturday. Other probables include Billy Jones, Nellie Flag, Toro Nancy, Silk Mask, Count Arthur. Rock X., Where Away, Erin Torch, Visigoth, Silversmith, Grand Duke, Calumet Dick, Pharosay and Microbe.. Several of the eligibles worked out here this morning over the slow track, Calumet Farms Nellie Flag showing the best move when she stepped six furlongs jn 1:13, breezing. Calumet Dick, in company with Sun Teddy, went the. same distance in 1:14. Mrs. John Hertz Count Arthur breezed, a mile in 1:45 and Brpwnell Combs" Grand Duke stepped six furlongs in 1:15, handily.
