I DETROIT TURF NOTES : : Jockey J. Mattioli departed for Latonia, Thursday night, where he rides Hal Price Headleys Sparta in the renewal of the Oaks. For the remaining eight days of the meeting Webb Everett will serve as placing judge in the place of Sidney Brown, who left for Chicago last week. E. B. Carpenter is transfering his useful stable to Arlington Park Sunday. John McKee, widely known sportsman and breeder, is the guest of Des Dressen, the manager of the pari-mutuel department.
