Won driving; second and third the same. TRIOLET rushed to the lead on the inside and, steadied around the final turn, withstood the challenge of WHICHAWAY and MOKENA and, holding on well, came away slowly in the last sixteenth, but had little left. WHICHAWAY bettered his position slowly after reaching the final half mile, challenged gamely when placed to pressure in the stretch, but faltered in the late stages, yet outstayed MOKENA. The latter, badly outrun early and raced in the middle of the track throughout, moved to the leaders gradually, but hung in the drive. GOLDEN KNIGHT had no mishaps. PAYNE showed speed under energetic riding, but dropped back steadily the last three eighths. FAIR CYNTHIA showed little. MISS GLACE, steadied throughout, gradually overtook the leaders after reaching the final half mBe, came away in the stretch and won with something in reserve. NORTHERN SIR raced very wide, but under restraint for three-quarters, could not withstand the winner, yet held on fairly well. SERGEANT HILL, close to the pace from the start and eased back when in close quarters on the second turn, swung to the extreme outside in the stretch and outstayed the others. DOROTHY W. saved much ground, but faltered badly after three-quarters. CATINO, forced to lose much ground, rallied on the final turn, but gave way badly in the stretch.
