MELODIANA took command leaving the back stretch, lost ground at the stretch turn, but came again after losing command. ALLOWANCE, away slowly and far back for three-quarters, rallied to punishment and finished with a belated rush. She was going much the fastest at the end. RUTH WRACK raced to her company rapidly after clearing the twelfth fence, disposed of DANGAY, but was unable to withstand the winner nearing the finish. MATAGAIN, far out of contention, outstayed tiring horses at the close. DANGAY moved into an easy lead at the twelfth jump, but made a bad landing at the thirteenth fence and almost fell, after which he fell back badly.
