SEE LOWER MIAMI RENTALS 1 Numerous New Homes and Hotels Will Have Big Effect. Horsemen Should Find Living Conditions Less Crowded Than In Past Years 100 Racing Days. MIAMI, Fla., Oct. 27. When Americas thousands of turfmen move southward early next month they will view with amazement the changes which have taken place since they left here last April. For while they have been wandering the trails from Maryland to New York, New England and back again Miami has been growing as never before In its history. Not even in boom times were so many homes, hotels and apartments constructed as lifted their skeletons from the sands this summer and swiftly took shape. In Miami Beach, for instance, 253 homes have been started and completed; thirty-three hotels, with a total of 1,971 rooms, have gone up, and eighty-four apartments of the most modern and convenient type have increased the accommodations by a large nun-.ber of units. Miami has not been behind Miami Beach in building. Everywhere one turns new homes, hundreds of beautiful little white cottages and attractive lawns and shrubbery will greet the eye. LOWER RENTALS. All of this building has brought about a greatly desired situation insofar as the tourist is concerned. It means Miami, despite the tremendous influx of travel expected, should not see any increases in rentals. Indeed, chambers of commerce in both Miami and Miami Beach have issued statements, following a complete survey, to the effect that rentals will be no higher this year than last. The scale of prices so far this fall is the same .as that at the start of last season and winter quotations also are the same. Horsemen coming to Miami will find living conditions less crowded than in the past, a greater selection of attractive homes, furnished completely for rental, and apartments and hotels. Shrewd real estate men say that rents in the older buildings, which have served so well for several years, will necessarily be lower than last season. Present prices, however, are no higher or lower than last autumn, despite a much larger early trend of travel in the city. LONG RACING SEASON. Horsemen will have a complete season of steady racing, numbering almost 100 days. Hialeah Park will be ready to receive horses November 1 and Joseph E. Widener"s forty-six day meeting will get under way January 13 and run to March 6. Hialeah will be preceded by Tropical Park and followed by the Coral Gables course. With such rich stakes as the 0,000 added Widener, the 0,000 added Flamingo Stakes and the ,000 McLennan Memorial, Hialeah expects to attract the finest collection of " thoroughbreds in training. The Widener, Flamingo and Nursery Stakes Nos. 1 and 2 " close Monday, November 16.
