J. Maloney; bred by Mr. Baron Long. Winner entered to be claimed for ,000. WENT TO POST 5:35. AT POST 3 minutes. Start cood and slow. Won easily; second and third driving. CRABTREE, snugly restrained while racing close up, moved up fast to take command after about five-eighths, drew into a long lead and held sway to the end. BECKVILLE, saving ground but outrun for a half mile, began improving his position fast thereafter and, though failing to menace the winner, was best of the others. BATTING EYE took command at the start, readily gave way to the winner and then held on fairly well to the final eighth before tiring. JOAN MACAW, a factor from the beginning, dropped back after a half mile and then came again when put to punishment and finished gamely. SIR AJAX dropped back immediately after the start and never threatened. Scratched 35469 King Today, 112; 35050 Valley Prince, 109; 35541 Canteron, 112; 35540 Cantcrwood, 112; 35765sCabotin, 107.
