I ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES j $ $ According to advices received from New Orleans, one of the new improved Cattarinich gates will be used for all starts during the coming meeting opening at the Fair Grounds on Thanksgiving Day. R. T. Watts reported the two-year-old Mon-Image, which unloaded here in an ailing condition, much improved Tuesday. The condition of the juvenile had been regarded serious for several days. Canceling of stalls Ray Pollard, Dallas horseman, had reserved here, was announced by Charles J. McLennan. Pollard wired that sickness prevented him from moving his stable, now at Narragansett, as planned. Frank Kurincc, one of the older riders seen at Epsom Downs, put in a belated appearance and will free lance for the. present. Apprentice Sammy Roberts, who piloted two winners Monday, is one of the best of the younger prospects riding at Arlington Downs. A native of Kansas City, Kas., and under contract to Herbert M. Woolf, owner of the extensive Woolford Farm and Raping Stable, Roberts rode his first winner little more than two months ago. The double scored Monday brought his total victories J to twenty-four. Eighteen, and tipping the beam at but 100 pounds. Roberts may not soon encounter the weight bugaboo, and with more experience he will be In great demand.
