ACCOLADE STARS AT SALEM j y j j One Time Half-Miler Accounts for 1 Two Handicap Races. t Oaktree Stable Horses Win Nine Races Dur- v Ing Rockingham Park Meeting and Earn ,215. J t Accolade, the former half-miler, was the etar of the twenty-two day Rockingham Park meeting, which began on September 28 and ended on October 22. The six-year-old Bright Knight Celebration gelding won the Col. A. J. Pierce Speed Handicap and the Bennington Handicap to easily top the list of money winning horses. I Rockingham Park disbursed 66,425 in prizes, a daily average of ,564.77. The Oaktree Stable, with its colorbearers scoring on nine different occasions, also , placing and finishing third in numerous , races, exceeded the winnings of D. Christ- mas by a substantial margin despite the brilliant performances of the tetters Accc- . lade, the Oaktree Stable winnings amount- . ing to ,245, while Christmas won ,315. t Accolades earnings for the meeting to- taled ,290. Howard won one race, the ML Washington Handicap, and ,770. He fin- l ished second to Accolade in the money winners list with a margin of 95 over Chanc- i ing, which took the General Green Handi- cap and its prize of ,575. j Six riders were in the Jimelight during ; the session but J. Barba, riding nineteen winners, had the best record. W. G. Jackson had seventeen winners, J. Rosen fifteen, W. Lcischman fourteen, C. Stevenson thirteen and K. Knott twelve. W. Hartman, trainer for the Oaktree Stable, prepared the nine winners of that establishment and carried off honors in his division. S. Rutchick was second on the list with six winners.
