t BOWIE TURF NOTES " S Hirsch Jacobs arrived at Jamaica from Florida and took over the horses he has at that point. Among the horses arriving at Havre de Grace recently were those owned by Mrs. H. H. Heighc, J. Bowes Bond, Johnny Kermath and George Strate. Trainer R. E. Potts shipped a division of the Bomar Stable to Havre de Grace. Mike Sarno arrived from Tropical Park and will ride at this meeting. S. Coule and A. Schmidl also arrived from Florida. Ray Bryson reported that he will start his apprentice, S. Longo, of New Orleans riding during the Havre de Grace meeting. At private terms, C. Strum purchased from E. K. Bryson the two-year-old Sandid and the youngster was turned over to L. Garth Wright to train. Ty Shea left for Agawam Park at Springfield, Mass., and will serve as racing secretary at that meeting. Edward Brennan will fill the post of general manager. Thirty-six horses owned by the Medway and Cosgrave Stables arrived at Havre de Grace from Tropical Park. Frank Gilpin unloaded the Seagram Stable horses at the Chesapeake track. They came from- California. Nominations for the Nursery and Baltimore Handicap, to be run at Pimlico, closo on April 15, according to Frank J. Bryan of the Maryland Jockey Club. Starter James Milton reported that schooling lessons were at a standstill at Havre de Grace due to the muddy track. E. S. Welter received a letter from Gus Krause from Havana in which he stated that the meeting at Oriental Park was improving steadily. Eddie Cotell is ringmaster. Jockey H. Le Blanc tilted his total of winning mounts for the season to fifty-four, completing a triple Monday. He is now third on the list Jockey R. Root severed his connection with the E. K. Bryson stable and will ride as a free lance. Dr. Edward P. Kilroe of the Metropolitan Jockey Club tendered an invitation to turf writers and racing officials to a luncheon to be held at the Jamaica clubhouse on Tuesday, April 13, at noon. William Shrewbridge and Gil Haus will be in charge of racing on Saturday at the Mid-dleburg Hunt, Middleburg, Va. Jockey J. Wagner arrived from Tropical Park and will accept mounts here. Bill Mulholland. with the Brandywine Stable, arrived at Havre de Grace and will await that meeting.
