j LATEST QUOTATIONS IN KYNES DERBY BOOK i , - - --. SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., April 6. Pom-poon remains a steady 6 to 1 favorite to win the Kentucky Derby, but Reaping Reward bids fair to displace him ,as first choice among the speculatively inclined, according to Jack Kyne, who today made public his, latest slate on the big race on May 8. "There is plenty of action for the Milky Way star, and we have been forced to drop his odds from 10 down to 7 to 1," Kyne said. "There is not much demand for the favorite, but we feel he must be kept at 6 to 1 on his record." Brooklyn is still 8 to 1. Next comes Galsun, the Calumet Stable colt, which has been the medium of heavy play, and Privileged, both held at 15 to 1. In the 20 to 1 bracket are Fairy Hill, winner of the Santa Anita Derby, which has been raised from 15 to 1; Court Scandal, which performed well recently in Florida; Gerald, which showed good form at Santa Anita; Macdic, sensation of the Saratoga Springs last August; Military, the crack stablemate of Reaping Reward; Moon-ton, Sceneshifter, War Admiral and Clodion. Airflame, Billionaire, Black Look, Case Ace, Dellor, Eli Yale, No Sir and Tattered are the 25 to 1 shots. The rest of the field ranges upward to 1,000 to 1, which is laid against Pang and Stormy Ocean. The most drastic cut was made on Raoul Walshs imported English racer, Sunset Trail II. This horse was opened at 250 to 1, at which figure he was wagered on heavily. Kyne sliced him to 100 to 1 a week ago, and then, after the outlanders brilliant performance Saturday at Tanforan, he cut the colt to 40 to 1.
