CUP MAY BE HANDICAP The Hawthorne Gold Cup will be renewed, but the managements present inclination Is to make it a handicap with probably 5,000 added, the maximum weight to be 128 pounds and the minimum 110 pounds. This should insure a field of high class horses and will be an inducement for people with handicap horses of the better class to ship to Chicago knowing that weight distribution will not permit any mediocre horse to slip into the race. i
