1 ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES I s 3 Ray Hightshoe, who piloted Mrs. V. Wyses Eastport to victory in the Arkansas Derby, Saturday, returned to Arlington Downs, Monday. Hightshoe incurred the displeasure of the stewards at the Spa in the Derby and was handed thirty days for rough riding. Another belated arrival from Hot Springs was W. C. Weant, who unloaded eighteen thoroughbreds Monday at the Arlington siding. Eugene Lutz was another to arrive from the Spa, unloading seven performers. T. C. Worden, widely known Chicago sportsman, and Herbert M. Woolf, owner of Woolford Farm, arrived for an indefinito visit. The Woolford Farm stable, in charge of Ben Jones, is the largest on the grounds. Grand Waters, Ianthe and Stop Scout were placed on starter Dickersons schooling list. In addition to Dead Calm, J. R. Gregory has Percussion, Jubilee Jim, Brilliant Light Overlap and Flying Time here for W. E. Snyder. T. Meloche, veteran rider attached to Sam Holmans stable, arrived Tuesday at Arlington Downs and will be seen under colors shortly. Apprentice Sammy Roberts reported sick and was permitted to cancel Tuesdays engagements. He expects to resume riding Wednesday. Clarence Davisons Triolet, which broke a leg in the eighth race Monday, had to be destroyed. Wesley Freeman stated Tuesday morning that he would be a member of starter Jack Hodgkins ground crew at Omaha and would not be in charge of the jockeys quarters. Topped by the speedy Miss Premier and Prince Fox, the large stable W. C. Weant brought here from Hot Springs included The Bouncer, Judge Peak, Creston, Miss Callle Swift Runner, Henrietta, Orbrcy, Jean Lee Fairsickle, Wise Anne, Sickle Hour, Just Joan and Round Rock. Frank Grand, trainer of the Radio Stable reported that Thistle Cleo foaled a chestnut colt by Dr. Cardenas Sunday morning. The mare is quartered at Jefferson Park New Orleans. He also stated that Morning Cry, and Cotton Time have been bred to Justice B. Justice B. finished third in the first running of the Texas Derby. Lawrence McDcrmott gave a call on his services to M. M. Harrison and he will do the major training for the Corsicana Stablo
