t PLAN CRETE IMPROVEMENTS Complete Rearrangement of Ground Floor of Clubhouse Repairs to Entire Plant. LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 6. Improvements and alterations designed to keep Lincoln Fields In the front rank among: the oountrys most picturesque, complete and up-to-date courses have been outlined by Col. Matt J. Winn, head of the American Turf Association, and will be made before the track opens for its thirty-day summer meeting, beginning- August 2. Colonel Winn and his track and building superintendent, Thomas Young, went over tha Crete plant with architects about two weeks ago and the changes and new features then outlined tentatively have been approved. Complete rearrangement of the lower or ground floor of the clubhouse to include an open air garden is a part of the program. The entire ground floor area within the lines of the clubhouse building will be cleared, according to the plans adopted. Wickets for mutuel ticket sellers and cashiers will be moved back and west of the club structure, a court to the rear of the building being used for this purpose. The garden will occupy some of the territory beneath the clubhouse and extended south for some distance over what now is the south lawn. As a combination cocktail lounge and garden, this new feature is expected to prove as popular as the patio that Colonel Winn added to the general admission enclosure there several years ago. Every part of the plant is to undergo minute repairs and will be painted and redecorated. Much landscaping also is planned.
