OLD JAKE, away slowly and unable to improve his early position, responded fast after reaching the stretch turn, wore the leaders down in the final eighth and won with something left. SANTA MARITA worked her way forward on the outside and finished strongly. DOMINUS WITCH, never far back and saved early, forged to the front approaching the final quarter, swung wide entering the stretch and tired thereafter. REY ORO was in close quarters. ANGELITA, hustled along from the start, wore ROLLED NOTES down after five-eighths, gave way when challenged, again took command on the inside in the stretch, but tired fast in the final eighth. The latter, away slowly and forced to lose ground when improving her position, moved up fast in the last eighth and was wearing the winner down at the end. BILLY MOLE, far back for three-eighths, improved his position on the inside and finished strongly. PEGOTTY ANN, hustled along from the start, wore SPRINGS HERE down in the stretch, but tired fast after five-eighths. ALBERT BECK was in close quarters. MARGARET NADI quit.
