KEENELAND TURF NOTES The stewards for the Keeneland meeting will be Pierre Lorillard, Jr., presiding steward and Louie A. Beard, Roy Carruthers, Brownell Combs, W. Arnold Hanger, J. O. Keene, C. G. Middleton, Charles Nuckols and C. Barry Shannon, associate stewards. Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Fisher and Miss Mary Fisher are at Dixiana Farm and expect to remain In Kentucky until after the running of the Kentucky Derby. j The five horses that A. C. Detwiler will race for Mrs. Bessie Franzheim at Keeneland include Sonsy Boy, Gay Troubadour, I Big Bud, Witheraway and Fine Airs. I John Price Jones, veteran Kentucky turfman, has two juveniles and a three-year-old under his supervision here. Sally Shall and Tack Point he is handling for Brown and Fetter and Grace Whisk for his wife. Apprentice Henry Romaine came in from New Orleans and made application for a license to ride. Fred Cropper has his four-horse stable at the Fair Grounds. The horses slated to j sport the Cropper silks at the local oval are My Blaze, Berry, Herb and Zevanaid. George Morris has the horses of G. C. Scott, Pikeville, Ky., sportsman at the trotting track. The Kentucky owners representatives are Pertladdie, Hasty Ruth, Blue Star, King Joy, Say When, Kittys Rival and Hoosiers Pride. Sweet Showno, which took sick during the latter part of the Florida season will be turned out here by trainer Morris and picked up for fall racing. A recent arrival was the horses of Mrs. Frank Barton, which came from Hot Springs. The horses, trained by her husband are Captain Jinks, Miss Saxon, Calculator and Ted Husing. M. P. Lyons has his five-horse stable quartered at the trotting track. The young trainer is conditioning Biography, claimed at New Orleans, Front Fender, Best o Luck, Maguire and Sherry B., a two-year-old which has never been to the post. Sherry B. is a brown filly by Jacopo Alcola. Ernie Babcock brought the two-year-old Miss Kentex from New Orleans and also took over the three-year-old maiden May See to train. The only horse C. L. Dodson has at this time is Honey Chile, which is quartered at the Fair Grounds. In addition to King Tea, J. F. Rector has the nine-year-old mare Bonny Bess in training at the Fair Grounds. Rector purchased Bonny Bess several days ago. Harry P. Richards added to his one-horse stable which was made up of Broadway Juel when he purchased Swift Dawn Wednesday morning from C. C. Van Meter. Tom Bates is training Lone Widow for Carl Childress. The filly, which was bred by Childress is quartered at the Fair Grounds.
