EXPECT NEW TRACK RECORDS Beulah Park Time Marks Set Last Year Better Class of Horses for This Season. COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 21. Track records at Beulah Park are expected to fall with monotonous regularity during the spring meeting, which starts Wednesday, May 4. All of the existing records were established last year, when the mile track was built. This fact, along with the improved caliber of thoroughbreds awaiting the meeting, leads the railbirds to predict that several, if not all, of the track records, will go by the boards. Many of the present record holders will race at the forthcoming meeting. These include High Santa, Legal Gamble, Cabotin, j Dusty Lane, Miss Adele and Play Shoot. High Santa set the record of 1:06 for five and one-half furlongs, Legal Gamble holds the mile and seventy yards record of 1:43, Cabotin and Dusty Lane jointly hold the mile and one-sixteenth standard of 1:46, Miss Adele has sped over the mile and one-eighth distance in 1:53, and Play Shoot holds the 2:06 record for the mile and one-quarter. Lady B. claims the record for four furlongs, having run that short distance in :51. Dominant Darby and Maryan D. share the Tionor at f our and one-half furlongs of :55, while Jolo has stepped five furlongs in 1:06. Gold Thorn holds the 1:12 record for six furlongs, while Harpen Belle has raced over the distance of a mile in 1:38. The record for the longest race at Beulah . last year is held by Glasby, which was clocked in 2:32 for a mile and one-half.
