Won easily; second and third driving. , MAY R. forced the pace from the start, stood a drive gamely to shake off SHADYTOWN T, and then drew away in the final eighth, winning with speed in reserve. SHADYTOWN showed speed from the-start while saving ground and had no mishaps. CUCKOO closed resolutely on the inside from a slow beginning and Finished with a rush. SWEET ADELINE was unprepared at the start and was away poorly. She closed fast at the end. MEMOIRS showed an even effort. PAPA JACK had no excuses. SURE CLOUD had a flash of early speed. SPANISH FLY Finished on his own courage, his boy losing the stirrup irons on the far turn. SPICEBOX raced evenly. BATTLE CALL quit in the stretch. NOBLE SCOT was outrun. CHING-LING was rushed into command after the break, showed good speed throughout, shook off determined opposition from BANNER GIRL in the stretch and held her field safe to the end. BANNER GIRL raced forwardly from the start and made a determined bid when urged, but could not overhaul the winner. DONITA M. began slowly and closed ground steadily on the outside. EASY DOES IT made up some ground while racing greenly. ALMS raced greenly from the start. GOGETIT was under restraint hi the early running and could not improve its position when called upon. EVENING LIGHT showed a flash of early speed and then quit badly. JEANNETTI began slowly. LADY TUT had no mishaps. Scratched 56490 American Daisy, 116; Chicluna, 116. THIRD RACE 1 MILE AND 70 YARDS. The latter was sent Into command rounding the first turn, showed speed under restraint, but could not stand off the winner. LONE GALLANT was taken up repeatedly on the inside in the early running, saved ground entering the stretch and then tired. SWIFTGOLD showed a good effort throughout. BRANSOME raced close to the pace on the outside from the start, lost ground entering the stretch, but finished resolutely and wore down INVOKE in the last strides. The latter, in between the leaders in the final eighth, responded when pressed and held on with determination. RISSA moved into command with a rush, showed high early speed while saving ground and had no mishaps. DOROTHY OWSLEY made up ground steadily from a slow beginning. SPARKLING EYES was well up under restraint the first part, but bore out in the stretch. MOONFOLLY began slowly and closed some ground. DANCING REIGH had no early speed. UALLNO broke in motion from outside the stalls, drew away into a safe lead, was rated along steadily and shook off determined opposition from PENDENCIERO and then held SOMALI safe to the end. The latter was under restraint in the early racing, improved his position when called upon on the outside in the stretch and closed well. OLD STORY, outrun to the far turn, worked his way up on the inside and finished gamely. PENDENCIERO made a determined bid when settled in the back stretch and again on the far turn, but could not overhaul the leader, then faltered in the final eighth.
