1 KEENELAND TURF NOTES e Jockey Joe Renick donned the silks for the first time this season at Keeneland when he had the mount on E. R. Bradleys Bing Bong, a starter in the third race Wednesday afternoon. The trio of horses stabled at the Fair Grounds which have been on the ailing list for the past few days were reported as much improved by the attending veterinarian. The sick animals are Grandchild, Bomar and Cautivo. H. G. Shoemaker, who obtained Fountain Head via the claiming route from Hal Price Headley, president of the Keeneland Association, reported that the racer received a superficial wound on his stifle when forced into the rail during the running of the race. Larry C. Bogenschutz, placing judge at Keeneland and who serves in a similar capacity at Churchill Downs; Lincoln Fields and Latonia, received stake blanks from the Hollywood Turf Club and passed them out to horsemen. Eddie Hart, who shipped his thoroughbreds from Bay Meadows to Belmont Park, stopped off in Lexington for a few days to take up five additional racers for campaigning in the Metropolitan area this summer. The quintette were shipped to New York Wednesday morning and Hart departed to assume charge of his racers. Apprentice G. C. Fisher, a recent arrival from Columbus, Ohio, had his initial mount of the Keeneland, season when he was astride Nogalo in the seventh race on Wednesday afternoons program here. J. H. Johnson, who resigned as trainer of the George La Flesh stable during the recent meeting at Tropical Park, was an arrival from the Everglade state, and contemplates assembling a stable for racing in Illinois during the summer. Jockey Bobby Dotter, contract rider for the Hovard Oots Stable, was unseated from a two-year-old that he was schooling at the starting gate Wednesday morning but escaped uninjured. J. P. Jones, owner of the Oddesa Farm stable, was an arrival from his home in Detroit, Mich., and plans to remain in Lexington until the close of the current spring meeting, which reaches its climax Thursday, April 28. 4
