1 HAVRE DE GRACE NOTES " s G. H. Perry, who purchased the three-year-old gelding Speak from Mrs. E. H. Augustus at Havre de Grace on Monday, is considering converting the gelding into a steeplechaser. Jockey Earl Porter has given first call on his services to the stable of Mrs. E. Dene-mark. Racing secretary Charles J. McLennan learned that T. J. Healeys good five-year-old Tatterdemalion, winner of the Tropical Handicap, and Mrs. E. D. Jacobs Caballero II. are expected here to start in the Philadelphia Handicap Saturday. Jockey George Rose departed for New England to be on hand for the opening of Suffolk Downs Saturday. Jockey Joe Wagner has given second call on his services to E. R. Bradley while first string rider Joe Renick is in Kentucky with the main division of the stable. Donald Hay, who will be in charge of the mutuels at the thirty-three day summer meeting at Agawam, returned from Springfield after inspecting new improvements at that course. The suspension that was imposed upon jockey C. Critchfield here a few days ago terminates on. April 29. Critchfield stated that he would be at Suffolk Downs ready to ride on opening day. At the close of the meeting at Havre de Grace William Zakoor will divide his stable into two sections. One draft will be shipped to Suffolk Downs to be raced by Don Mc-Vean, while the others will be transferred to Pimlico. Trainer Phil Reuter has turned over the horses that he has been training for J. E. Emerson to Harry Trotzek, who is applying for a trainers license with the Maryland Racing Commission. Additional horsemen requesting stable accommodations for the summer meeting at Wheeling Downs, accoi-ding to president Walter H. Donovan, are R. V. Parrish, Hopeful Stock Farm, Skaal Stable, Guy Baker W. W. Waters, P. C. Corbitt, Fay Headlee, P. S. P. Baird, L. R. Stockdale, F. J. Kirby, Jr., J. R. Carlock-and George L. Zimmerman. Jockey Raymond Workman, first string rider for A. G. Vanderbilt, has been engaged to ride Bourbon King in the Kentucky Derby, providing that colt is engaged to start. Joseph Kelly purchased the plater Gurkha from Alvin Untermyer at private terms.
