POLLY FAIR, racing well, improved her position on the outside, responded to a strong drive after goving to the leaders midway of the stretch and finished stoutly to reach the front right at the end. MISS MAR forced a steady pace while following close, to OUR CHUCKIE and fought it out nicely in the closing drive. OUR CHUCKIE was unable to get clear after taking the lead and tired at the finish. ANN MOWLEE, forced to race on the outside, moved up strongly at the stretch turn, but swerved to the inside Rearing the finish. GRITT closed ground in the stretch run. SEA SHELL could not keep up. EARLY TIMES, squeezed back slightly after going n the thick of contention to the far turn, moved up in the stretch and finished determinedly. LADY MARYLAND circled the leaders to take a short lead midway of the home stretch, but hung nearing the finish. CORNWALLIS tired in the stretch drive while in close quarters. WISE KING was a strong-factor from the beginning and held on well to figure in a dead heat for fourth; TRICKWICK raced, well while being forced to race on the inside most of the way. CHANCING showed early speeed. SUN ANTIOCH lost a lot of ground all the way. HIGHOMAR was outrun. DEFLATES rider was caught napping at. the start. SEA DOVE was outrun. PHANTOM FOX, well up in the early racing, worked his way to the pacemaker at the final turn, assumed a short lead midway of the home stretch, then responded gamely to draw out slowly at the Hose. DURWRACK, racing on his own courage for seven eighths, and alllowed to drop far back, was shaken hp nearing the home stretch, then finished full of run while weaving his way through between horses. PA-fTENT SAINT worked his way forward readily when placed to a drive, reached the leaders and held on gamely. JAMES BOY challenged strongly at the final turn and came gamely in the final stages after going lame. MARIATO opened up a wide lead in the first six furlongs, but tired when caught. SECRET VOTE saved a lot of ground, but was not good enough. BOGERTIN had no mishaps. MISCHIEFMAKER was used up early. Scratched 56542 Jimmy D., 110.
