JUVENILE RACE FEATURE Richard Johnson Stakes at Laurel Attracts Nine Youngsters. Johnstown Given an Opportunity to Make Partial Amends for Futurity Defeat Time Alone Eligible. LAUREL, Md., Oct. 7. Nine youngsters, including two fillies, have been named for Laurels Saturday headliner, the Richard Johnson Stakes. The feature is a dash of six furlongs for juveniles and it carries an added value of ,000. This years running, which will be the eleventh, promises to provide an interesting contest, as several outstanding two-year-olds are scheduled to make their appearance. The race, which is under allowance conditions, finds Mrs. F. A. Carreauds Time Maker colt Time Alone asked to carry top weight. His burden is 122 pounds, three more than his nearest rival. This is due ot his success in the Eastern Shore Handicap, which he accounted for impressively. In his only other start the Carreaud colt was second to the doughty Pprters Mite in the Tanforan Juvenile. Much interest in the running of the weekend feature will be centered in the appeai--ance of Belair Studs Johnstown. Fourth in the rich Belmont Futurity last Saturday when installed the favorite, the son of Jamestown has a chance to atone for that defeat in some measure tomorrow. It is expected that, jockey Jimmy Stout will come from New York to handle the Belair ace. - YALE O NINE READY. Under 119 pounds comes Thomas D. Tag-garts Yale o Nine. The wagering choice in the Eastern Shore was unable to live "up to expectations in that race, but came back to account for the overnight race at that track in the easiest fashion in the fastest time recorded for the six furlongs distance during the session. Since that creditable showing she accounted for a victory in an overnight event. Edward R. Bradley will be represented by Balmy Spring, which graced the winners circle in a recent race at Belmont Park. The son of Black Toney defeated non-winners in that race, but might go on to better things. W. H. Lipscomb will send post-ward the other filly in the race in Redlin. This youngster has won her four latest races, but faces her toughest assignment tomorrow.
