CHICALBA, under hustling tactics from the start and lucky to secure room on the inside in the first eighth, raced to MAXIE M. quickly when straightened in the stretch, but tired after getting to the front and won under strong pressure. MAXIE M. took command with a rush, was on the inside after three-sixteenths, readily submitted to the winners challenge in the stretch, yet held on fairly well. SONIA M. raced wide and also under strong riding from the start, steadily made up ground in the final quarter, but failed to reach the leaders. NEMRAC had no mishaps. RAIN WATER was held safe. "TWO TRICKS, fractious at the post but away well, raced well in hand for about three-eighths, dropped back slightly when approaching the stretch, but rallied boldly when straightened out for the last three-sixteenths, then came through on. the inside when taking the lead and won easily. DOREEN displayed the most speed from the start, swerved out slishtly in the stretch and tired in the late stages, but outsayed MOSS GAL. The latter, well up after the first eighth and always clear, was under strong pressure the last three-eighths and held on gamely. EP, never a great distance back, closed resolutely in her good effort. JUST BUCK could not get up. CHIPETA finished fast. MORNING MAIL began poorly. DARK SEEKER met interference when racing well entering the stretch and sulked thereafter. MY GRANDSON quit. SEVEN UP, rank at the post, broke fast from outside of the stalls. DENOTE made tlie early pace under strong restraint, responded to brisk handriding after reaching the stretch and came away in the final eighth. OH FUDGE, a sharp factor from the start and raced wide throughout, was under a drive after a half mile and hung on with determination to the last sixteenth. MR. MILE, close up early, gave way badly rounding the turn, but came again in the stretch and overtook MOLLY FLY in the closing strides. The latter, fractious at the post, began well, was rated under steady restraint for a half mile, but tired when put to pressure. BLOND KIN had no excuses. IMPERIAL RONIE lost much ground. MISS PITTYPAT, cased back when in close quarters early, moved up on the inside entering the stretch and held on camcly in the drive. GALLANT STROKE, close up early, dropped back steadily when rounding the turn came to the extreme outside in the stretcli and, closing well, was wearing down MISS PITTYPAT. TEXAS BOY raced wide much of the trip. SISTER POLLY had good early speed, bore out in the stretch and began to falter badly before reaching the last eighth. DEPEND quit. LOW CUTS was outrun. LAYOVER raced wide for a half mile, veered to the inside under mild pressure in the stretch and gave way to FAIR HASTE in the final strides. VASSAR raced prominently from the start, failed to rally in the stretch, yet held on well and was gaining on the leaders at the end. SUMMIT HILL alternated with FLYING BREEZE in forcing the early pace under restraint, failed to withstand the challenge of SWAMP ANGEL after taking command, but held on well, outfinishing SWAMP ANGEL and pulled up slightly lame. SWAMP ANGEL, slow to begin, worked his way up on the outside, got to the front in the drive, but tired in the closing stages. FLYING BREEZE, well up from the start, moved up on the inside on the second turn, tired in the drive, but held the others safe. RAIL DOWN could not get up. KNEE ACTION began to falter before reaching the. stretch, where she quit badly. ALMAC failed to respond to strong urgine leaving the back stretch and sulked badly, in the stretch. EDDIE GARDNER, outrun for three-quarters, closed boldly, but could not reahc the leaders. SUNNY MAC tired after five-eighths. MAD SHIRLEY gave way badly in the final quarter. NICELLA quit.
