GOMEZ SERIES RECORD When Lefty Gomez was credited with the Yankees Thursday win in the world series it marked the sixth triumph for the southpaw in such competition. In the 1932 series he beat the Cubs once; he chalked up two wins against the Giants in 1936 and again in 1937.
