FAIRMOUNTS BIGGEST DOUBLE False Card and Zipalong Combination Brings Payoff of 82.80 to Six Fortunate Ticket Holders. COLLINSVILLE, HI., Oct. 7. The program of eight races offered Friday afternoon at Fairmount Park before the largest weekday crowd of the current meeting offered much that was attractive, close finishes and failure of the favorites to dominate seemingly being the order of the day. The weather was warm, with the sun shining brightly to take the chill out of the autumn atmosphere. Besides the thrills of evenly matched contests and victories of lightly regarded entries, there was a "Daily Double" pay-off of 82.80, the largest of the meeting, to thrill those in attendance, plus the added attraction of jockey Don Scurlocks fine riding, which accounted for two of his mounts being victorious in the first four races in which Scurlock rode. In the fourth event, which brought eight contestants postward, a spirited duel resulted during the run for home, with Genie Jr. getting up in time to take the decision by a length. Blakeen, which had led for the greater part of the event, finished second, another length before Dinain, which took third place. The "Daily Double" pay-off was returned to six fortunate holders of tickets on the combination of False Qard, a long shot winner which accounted for the second race, and Zipalong, which was victorious in the third. Jockey Scurlocks first effort in bringing home two of his mounts came in the opener on the card when he was astride Kingshigh-way in his winning effort. He also rode Genie Jr., winner of the fourth race.
