SHERRY B., forced back soon after the start and outrun for three-quarters, moved up swiftly in the drive, forged to the front when inside the final sixteenth and drew away under good urging. BLUE FANG, rushed to the front, was taken in hand when challenged, responded well when called upon, was forced to the outside of ALCEDO in the drive and finished strongly. ALCEDO bore over badly at the start, established a good lead after taking command, swerved slightlv when tiring and was unable to withstand the leaders. KATES KITTEN, never far back, finished well. HEEL DUST tired. BROWN CORNER, shuffled back by ALCEDO at the break, tired after reaching contention. T. MARCUS met interference at the start. UPHOLD was done after five-eighths. "BARBARA S., well ridden and fast to begin, was steadied along while racing" head and head with KENTUCKY JANE, took command when inside the final eighth, then tired near the end, but held PARISIAN MAID safe. The latter, in close quarters early and forced to be eased on the upper turn, came fast when clear and closed resolutely. KENTUCKY JANE, hustled to the front, was unable to draw clear and tired steadily after relinquishing the lead. ANN STAR tired after improving her position. RESPHA made up ground. BANJORINE, going in her best form and fprced wide from the start, responded to strong urging after reaching the stretch, wore down ROYAL BROOM in the final sixteenth and won drawing away. ROYAL BROOM raced wide while attaining a good early lead, set a nice pace under light urging and was unable to withstand the winner, but held on well. UPHOLDER, weakly ridden and slow to begin, improved his position rapidly after five-sixteenths and finished strongly. NOVETTE tired. GEN. MARKHAM had no mishaps. GALLEY SWEEP showed an even effort. BABY PRINCESS was forced out early and showed little. RAYMOND began very slowly and showed a dull effort. CHINATOWN quit. LAURETTA JAY did not break with her field. The latter, outrun early, was forced wide at the end, came fast on the extreme outside and tired in the last stages. NAUGHTY, hustled along from the start and on the inside, was squeezed back entering the stretch, but, recovering quickly, came again only to weaken in the last stages. STARRY FLAG, outrun early, was sent to the extreme outside at the stretch turn and failed to make up any ground. DULCIMER, shuffled back entering the stretch, showed nothing thereafter.
