WAR ADMIRAL IN 3 STAKES Delayed Mail at Narragansett Park Brings Entry in Aquidneck. Dooley Notifies Riddle and Howard of Plans for Rhode Island Handicap Increase. s PAWTUCKET, R. I., Oct. 8. Further evidence that Samuel D. Riddle intends racing War Admiral at Narragansetts Fall meeting came to hand yesterday, when, among the mail delayed nominations was found an additional engagement for the little Man o War colt in the Aquidneck Handicap, a one mile and a sixteenth contest, for three-year-olds and upwards, with ,000 added. This makes the third engagement at Gansett for the Riddle colt, and inasmuch, this nomination was signed bv George Conway, it is evident that owner and trainer are in perfect agreement as to the colts plans for the Fall. , The Riddle consignment will be fifteen horses and they are expected here this weekend. Judge James E. Dooley last night notified both Mr. Riddle and Mr. C. S. Howard that, . in the event of both War Admiral and Sea- biscuit starting in the Rhode Island Handicap on November 12, the added money would i be increased from 0,000 to 5,000. No discussion with regard to weights has been held, but as the race will be a regular handicap, to which twenty-two horses have been nominated, it follows that the weights will be assessed solely by the track handicapper, Bob Shelley. i GOOD OPPOSITION. Checking through the final compilation of Gansett Fall stakes, it is found that if War Admiral missed the Autumn Handicap on October 22, Seabiscuit could take his tightener over this course with opposition com-, ing from such as Bull Lea, Wise Prince, Pompeys Pillar, Mucho Gusto, etc. , War Admiral could get the feel of the track with a race in the Aquidneck on November 2, meeting the same quality horses as are entered in the Autumn. Then, comes the Rhode Island on November 12, in which are entered, in addition to War Admrial and Seabiscuit, such smart speedsters as Thanksgiving, Nedayr, Wise Prince and Busy K. I Narragansetts Fall stakes have lived fully up to the high standard set at the Summer meeting. The big plant has fully recovered from all damage inflicted by the hurricane of a week ago. Horses are shipDirig in here from all quarters. This morning a three-car j consignement arrived from Detroit, including seven head from the Skaal Stable; ten trained by G. E. Lewis; twelve in change of J. Li. McKnight; ten the property of the Le-win Stables; five in charge of H. K. Barron, and ten in care of Ed McCuan. Incidentally, riding for McCuan will be little Sammy Wil-I liams, the Texas apprentice, who is leading all apprentices in the country and second only to Johnny Longden in the national riding race.
