PIATT SALES OF YEARLING Twenty-Two Youngsters Will Be Sold at Lexington on Tuesday Night. Colts and Fillies by Prince Pal, Transmu, Justice F., Burgoo King and The f Scout Will Be Offered. LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 8. The Piatt fam il of horsemen will sell twenty-two thord oughbred yearlings during the annual Lex ington sales paddock sales this week, start ing Monday morning. The Piatt familyy headed by Thomas Piatt and including his son Thomas Carr Piatt and his son-in-law Robert M. Young, will offer their band of Kentucky-bred youngsters on Tuesday night. Prior to the sale up until Monday their yearlings can be inspected at the farms at Lex-J ington, and thereafter at the Lexington sales paddock until sold. Three stallions that are the property of the elder Piatt, including Prince Pal, Transmute and Justice F., and outside sires, sucli as Sun Flag, Jack High, The Scout, Grand-ace, Whiskaway, Kai-Sang, Burgoo King and Dark Hero are represented in the consign i ments. Twelve of the youngsters are fillief and ten are colts. Outstanding this year on the list of sire of winners and two-year-old winners, Tra"nsS mute should be popular with buyers. Thj Piatt lot includes only two get of this sum cessful siie and lively action for their posj session should result when they are led into the ring. Transmute is the sire of nine twoi yearrold winners this year. Horsemen who have seen the Piatt year lings this fall are unanimous in their opin4 ion that they represent one of the best con signments this family has ever sent to the sales ring. Several of the Prince Pals in the group bred by the elder Piatt are outstanding individuals. Prince Pals get have won more than ,000,000 in the United States and he is high on the list of leading sires every year.1
