LITTLE TARZAN followed along "within closest pursuit of the pace established by HASTINOLA, wora down the latter when called upon and drew clear at the end. HASTINOLA, hustled to, the front and sent along at her best clip, was unable to keep pace when challenged, although holding the others safe. IRISH HERO, unable to keep pace early, began improving his position on the outside during the last three-eighths and, closing considerable ground on the stretch turn, barely lasted to hold GENAIBI. The latter responded gamely to punishment and was going stoutly at the close. STAROGAN was well placed for the opening three-eighths, but dropped back thereafter. PRIMER had speed from the start and held on willingly to the close, but was no match for the winner in the closing test. MAY MUSIC, in close quarters in the run through the back stretch, moved up steadily when gaining clear sailing. QUlET LASS closed a big gap. EBLIS made up some ground during the stretch drive. ROSEMAIN raced to the front in the opening strides, drew clear before the opening quarter mile and, increasing her lead steadily, won with speed to spare. LADY HAV, in closest chase of the leader after the opening three-sixteenths, continued willingly under punishment. ALTHORP PARK moved up steadily when leaving the back stretch, but was unable to reach the leaders. PYRIFORM closed an immense gap. SPAVINAW tired under pressure. CANTAMORE, quickest to begin, dropped back steadily, although blocked and taken up when reaching the stretch. MARIA DULCE was unable to gain a forward position. SWEET ADELINE, restrained off the pace for the first three-quarters while holding to a forward position, responded gamely to hard urging and outlasted LEARNED at the end. The latter moved up steadily in the run through the back stretch, disposed of DARK BEAU for the lead and, fighting it out j gamely, surrendered command right at the line. PRINCE SADOR, reserved early, came willingly through the stretch and just lasted to hold CHAUVIN safe. The latter trailed for most of the trip, but was going stoutly when too late. WISE PRINCE, slightly restrained while following along within striking distance of the pace moved up on the outside leaving the back stretch, responded gamely when called upon, wore down GAY BALKO for the lead and, vigorously ridden through the last eighth, outlasted DOLLY VAL. The latter, prominent all the way, responded determinedly to punishment, fought it out gamely to the close and was worked out a mile in 1:44. GAY BALKO displayed good speed in pacemaking, but was unable to cope with the bids of the first two through the closing eighth. BEACH ENSEMBLE was prominent early, but tired shghtly throueh the last five-sixteenths. BUNADE was slow to begin, moved up stoutly on the inside through the back stretch, but was unable to make up any ground during the closing drive.
