BRIGHT, under good handling, was reserved off the early pace and steered to the inside for the final drive, moved into command inside the last sixteenth and, under mild urging, held TRA-LA-LA safe. The latter, forcing the pace from the start, continued gamely through the stretch run, but could not hold off the winner. LEONARDS SON, hustled from the start and, showing good speed, tired in the final sixteenth. JAY D. BANE could never improve his position. CYRUS P. finished gamely. TEPERWINE had no mishaps. NORMAN SLOAT, fractious at the post and placed outside the gate for the. start, had speed for a half mile under strong urging, but quit in the Final stages. The others were outrun. The latter, racing in her best form and hustled from the start, moved to the winner approaching the stretch, but was not good enough. ZAT SO, in close quarters rounding the. far turn and steered to the outside turning into .the stretch, finished gamely. TRAMWAY, in close quarters soon after the start and again turning into the stretch, wcaved through the field in the final eighth and closed resolutely. BESS COVENTRY had nothing left for the drive. BIG ONE, racing in best form, was allowed to settle into best stride, responded when called upon turning into the stretch, raced slightly wide and, under strong urging, was up in the final stride. YOUNG PLAYTIME, racing forwardly from the start, was in close- quarters rounding the far turn, moved into command when the leaders raced wide turning into the stretch, continued strongly under hard urging and just failed to last. MUSICAL JACK showed good speed, raced wide turning into the stretch, forcing RETTEF to the extreme outside, was allowed to settle into best stride when straightened out and finished gamely. RETTEF forced the pace from the start, was carried wide and showed a good effort. LAST HOP had no mishap. HE DEVIL lacked early speed. BLIND STAR had early speed. WARINGA, saving ground throughout and under strong restraint for three-quarters, responded to strong urging turning for home and, taking command inside the final sixteenth, withstood MISS KIEV. The latter, displaying good belated speed for the drive and securing room on the inside in the final eighth, closed strongly. OZARK, on the inside for the early running, came out for the stretch drive and, under strong urging, took a short lead approaching the final eighth, but tired badly in the last seventy yards. HIDDENITE moved into command rounding the far turn, but failed to respond to strong urging in the stretch drive. JAY BIRD could not reach the leaders under pressure. DR.
