1 PIMLICO TURF NOTES e o Johnny Longden, Americas leading winning rider for 1938, ran his string to 203 by registering a trio of wins Friday. Jockey Joe Renick packed his tafik and will depart for Tropical Park Sunday. J. H. McCoole has arranged to ship five horses to Hialeah Park. Donaldson Christmas Accolade suffered cuts during the running of the Ritchie Handicap Friday, which may keep him on the .shelf for a spell. Entries for the W. P. Burch Memorial, to be run opening day at Bowie, will close Monday and weights will be posted Tuesday at entry time. The Burch Memorial carries a purse of ,500 added and is to be decided at six furlongs. Bing Bong, a winner here a few days ago for E. R. Bradley, was disposed of at private terms to J. P. "Sammy" Smith. The amount involved was not divulged. Jockey Johnny Longden, Americas leading rider at the present time leads in the first ten days at Pimlico for the gold Gruen watch offered by the Maryland Racing Writers Association for the leading pilot at the Pimlico-Bowie meetings. Chris FitzGerald, presiding steward for the California Horse Racing Board and chief steward for the Illinois State Racing Commission, was a visitor Saturday afternoon to take in the running of the Pimlico Futurity. He then left for Riverside, Conn., where he will remain until time to leave to take up riis duties at Santa Anita Park.
