PURCHASE OF OHIO PAPER CHILLICOTHE, Ohio, Nov. 12. Purchase of the Daily News Advertiser by the Scioto Gazette, reputed to be the oldest daily newspaper west of the Alleghenies, was announced today by Edmund A. Chappell, publisher of the Scioto Gazette. Chappell said the Gazette would continue as an evening newspaper and the News-Advertiser will be changed from the afternoon to morning field, both being published in the Gazette plant. The combined publications plan to establish a Sunday morning edition. The Scioto Gazette was founded in April, 1800, by Nathaniel P. Willis, a member of the Boston Tea Party.
