DELAY SETTLEMENT OF STRIKE WILKESBARRE, Pa., Nov. 12. Hopes for an early settlement of the American Newspaper Guild strike at the plants of Wilkes-barres four newspapers appeared tcOiay to have suffered a new setback. In a broadcast on behalf of the strikers Peter Pointek, representative of the Bankers Union, declared that organization of the American Federation of Office Workers in Wilkesbarre by the A. F. of L. has delayed settlement. A proposed election to settle the issue of jurisdiction between the two groups would require lengthy procedure, he said, before the National Labor Relations Board. He blamed the publishers for the delay, alleging that they, or their agents, encouraged the new union.
