LEGERDEMAIN, never far back and in hand for five-eighths, was brought to the outside thereafter while moving up, took command with a rush approaching the last eighth and won with something in reserve. BESS B. improved her position steadily after a half mile and closed gamely, but could not menace the winner. DEAR ME broke slowly, moved up fast after a half mile and finished full of run. ONLY SON, in hand for three-quarters while racing well up, failed to rally thereafter, but held on fairly well. ALPEN-GLOW was jostled about on the first turn and never threatened thereafter. SYMPHON made the pace under occasional pressure and quit badly in the last quarter. ALAN CHICLE finished with a loose hind bandage. CARRYING TIME quit. PAR-QUEEN, hard ridden from the beginning, could not improve her position. GAY WORLD, taken up sharply at the start, made-up ground fast in the last quarter. HEDON tired. HELEN MAC, slow to begin, was outrun for a half mile, lost ground entering the stretch and closed boldly. HOLTON, vigorously handled from the start, held on fairly well in the drive, but could not menace the leaders. CHARLOTTE G. made up some ground in the final quarter. CYRUS P. had good speed for five-eighths and then cave way. MOLLY FLY quit after showing speed to the last eighth. BUILDING TRADES saved ground entering the stretch, but tired in the last eighth. ENCIRCLE tired after a half mile. PHRIXUS lost much ground on the stretch turn. DOUBLE R., a sharp factor from the beginning, moved up boldly approaching the last eighth, then hung. LOAFER, outrun for three-quarters, passed tiring horses in the drive. WOODSAW, unable to keep up with the early pace and on the inside, was steered to the outside in the last three-eighths, responded courageously to strong urging during the remainder of the trip and wore down JEWELL DORSETT in the last seventy yards to draw away, but was extended to the limit. CHIEF NADI, never far out of it and saving ground, worked his way forward between horses in the final quarter and finished strongly. JEWELL DORSETT, hard hustled to reach the lead on the outside, opened up a commanding lead rounding the upper turn, saved ground, but tired under pressure. BROWN KNIGHT, badly outrun to the final eighth, made up ground rapidly thereafter and finished well. GREY STREAK tired under vigorous urging. JOANNY worked her way up gradually. BACHELOR DINNER gave way badly in the last eighth after having been well up. SANGREAL had no mishaps. FAIRFLAX had speed for a half mile, then quit. Scratched 690353Gato, 109; 69035 Chance Ray, 107. PENRILL lacked speed and could not threaten, MISS COLLINS made the pace under eood rating, but gave way suddenly after reaching the last quarter.
