ALCATRAZ CONVICTS GUILTY SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Nov. 26. Alca-traz convicts James C. Lucas and Rufus Franklin today were found guilty of murdering guard Royal C. Cline during an attempted escape from "The Rock" May 23, but they escaped the death penalty. A federal court i jury of twelve men returned a verdict of guilty of first degree murder against the two badmen. The jury cast sixteen ballots I in reaching its verdict, which carried with it a leniency recommendation, meaning Lucas I and Franklin will be returned to "The Rock" I I for life. Franklin already is serving life for i robbery and kidnapping. Lucas is serving 1 thirty years for robbery.
