RACING MANUAL CORRECT LEXINGTON, Ky., Nov. 26. In todays issue of the Thoroughbred Record, in the course of an article by Cornelia Prime, one reads: "Hindoo is down in the American Racing Manual as winner of the second running of the United Hotel Stakes in 1881. Were this correct, three victors of this event would have been triumphant in the Kentucky Derby. But Hindoo was a three-year-old in 1881. He won the Derby that year, and was possibly one of the greatest horses to garner that classic." It is correct that Hindoo was a three-year-old in 1881, and that he won the Kentucky Derby and the United States Hotel Stakes that year, as stated in the American Racing Manual. Cornelia Prime overlooked the fact, as stated in the American Racing Manual, that the United States Hotel Stakes, now for two-year-olds, was "for three-year-olds and over, prior to 1901." ; , L ; r 1
