SPEEDY KING SAXON DIES AGUA CALIENTE, Mexico, Nov. 26. King Saxon, mile champion of the American turf in 1935 and one of the top flight handicap horses on the West Coast the past two years, died at Caliente Friday morning. The seven-year-old son of Saxon contracted car fever while being shipped down from Tari-foran the first of the week and then developed a severe case of pneumonia. King Saxon was purchased about two years ago as a candidate for the Santa Anita Handicap by Adolph Spreckels from C. H. Knebel- kamp for a sum reported to be 0,000. The horse broke down shortly after and was leased to R. F. Carman, Jr., who patched him up to score a number of stake victories. He was destined for stud duty after his racing days were over. Spreckels was believed to have carried insurance on the horse.
