BATTLE CALL, a strong contender from the start, moved forward to catch JACK 0 SPADES after entering the final eighth and, going well to the end, had enough left to hold BROADWAY BREEZE. The latter, unable to keep up with the early leaders, made a strong move on the inside in the stretch and was pressing the winner at the finish. JACK 0 SPADES raced to the front early to open up a good lead while setting the pace, but tired near the finish. JESSIE CLOUD came again in the stretch. PATRIOTIC tired. ROCKWOOD, close enough in the early stages, dropped back in the stretch and showed a dull effort. Overweight Woll-Timed, 4 pounds. SIXTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. DELINE BANK, fairly well up from the start and saving ground, hugged the rail when the early leaders raced wide to get through an opening to take command in the last sixteenth and won handily. HOME LOAN, on the outside in the early stages, was dropped down on the inside when the early leaders went wide and finished well. SKY GRENADE had the most early speed, but bore out badly on the stretch turn when challenged by CLARCAROLE to seriously interfere with the latter and was disqualified for the foul and was placed fourth. CLARCAROLE moved up fast rounding the stretch turn, met with serious interference from SKY GRENADE when just about to forge to the front and was probably best. CUE BALL was ridden in listless fashion and raced wide in the stretch. RETURN CHECK had early speed. Overweight Home Loan, 1 pound; Clarcarole, 1; Return Check, 2. SEVENTH RACE 1 MILE AND 70 YARDS. WING AND WING, under restraint back of BURSTON MANOR in the early part, moved forward steadily when given his head to take command when straightened out for home and won narrowly in a drive. PALA CHIEF was taken up when in close quarters on the inside near the stretch turn, but continued strongly next to the rail and barely missed. TRIPLANE, outrun early, made his move too late or might have been dangerous. NEDROB closed some ground on the inside. ALLANWOOD was hard ridden in an attempt to keep up, but was not good enough. BURSTON MANOR dropped back when the real racing began. Corrected weight Bonnie Sea, 112; Wing and Wing, 112. EIGHTH RACE 1 MILK AND 70 YARDS. Lady Seth, April 22, 19311:414102.
