CHARTRES, outrun early, liked the going and, coming fast to find an opening after entering the stretch, took command and drew into a long lead in the last eighth. IDLE LAD made up much ground on the outside in the stretch and was going well at the finish. VALE OF TEARS was never far away and, showed a fairly good effort in the going. DISSENT, outrun early, was going well at the end. MY MINT was used up getting to the front and quit badly. READY TEDDY tired after setting the early pace. NEW TRIAL raced well for three-quarters. THE CLEAVER moved up steadily on the inside after entering the last quarter and, going well to the end, outfinished NORWAY NELL. The latter was forced to race wide most of the way, but showed fair speed in the going and finished close up. REDCAR dropped several lengths back of the leaders in the early running, but finished fairly welL TRUELY FLO raced to the front early to set a good pace in the going, but-tired in the last eighth.. NED S.- tired in the stretch. COHIGH tired after making a brief bid neaiing the stretch turn. HASTRARCH was never a contender. JIMMIE SWEET showed fair early speed in the going, but was tiring at the finish. ALICE BYRD closed ground steadily in the last quarter and was going well at the end. BUSY MAE showed good early speed, but tired and pulled up lame. BENS HOPE had early speed. MISS CHASE was off slowly. GOLD SHIELD dropped out of it early and did not seem to like the going. LADYS SON showed good early speed, but was no match foi the winner when the real racing began and went wide in the stretch. LIBERTYS LOVE lacked early speed, but was going fairly well at the end. HOMME ROUGE was in tight quarters on the inside early and tircc in the heavy going in the stretch. GALPEN closed ground. FOAM showed good early speed ia the going, but was unable to resist the winner, although racing fairly well. DENBIGH was badly outrun for half the distance, then closed some ground on the inside.
