CANCEL ALL MILE RACES NEW ORLEANS, La., Nov. 29. Finding that races at a. distance of one mile are impractical, no more races will be staged at this distance and those included in the current issue of the condition book will be increased to a mile and seventy yards, it was announced. Thus far, only three races this season have been decided over the mile route and in instances where large-fields compete considerable crowding results at the first turn because of the short run from the starting point to the turn. The fourth race in the book for Wednesday was listed at a distance of one mile, but will be decided over the mile and seventy yards distance.
