GLYN R. TOMPKINS DIES WASHINGTON, 13. C, Nov. 29. Glyn R. Tompkins, of Warrenton, Va., one of the veteran trainers of America, with international experience d 1 here from injuries received in a fall Saturday. Tompkins trained horses for many noted American owners, his last connection with the turf being with the Brookmeade Stable of Mrs. George Sloane and prior to that with the Glen Riddle Farms stable. In the heyday of Chicago racing in the early 1900s, he won many races in the "Vindy City with a mare called Can Can. At one time he reported racing for the New York Evening Sun and in 1890 was accredited with winning enormous sums of money at Saratoga.
