TORCH STICK BARGAIN CLAIM Torchilla Filly Scheduled to Perform in Biloxi Handicap Undefeated in Four Starts. NEW ORLEANS, La., Nov. 29 One of the bargain, claims of the-year is quartered at the Fair Grounds, the property of the Old Fox Stable, which is under the supervision of E. E. Irby. The bargain is the undefeated two-year-old chestnut filly, Torch Stick, which was claimed after stepping down in front in the initial start of her career at Washington Park on August 24. Since making her debut, the daughter of Torchilla Flystick has added three more triumphs to her credit, the most recent of which was a handicap for two-year-olds at Fairmount Park, on which occasion she trounced the best of her age on the grounds in a sprint of five and a half furlongs, but in that race exhibited an inclination to go oh as she came from far back to register by a neck. It is quite probable that trainer Irby is planning the fillys first appearance in the Biloxi Handicap and he performance in that race should give some definite line on her ability to travel a distance of ground. Torch Stick was bred at Dixiana, thoroughbred nursery of Charles T. Fisher, in Lexington, Ky., and made only one start under the Detroit sportsmans colors.
