HANDICAPPER MISSES ,000 Picked Six of Seven Caliente Winners But Departed Early. Loses Big Frize Under Rules Governing ContestImpossible to Meet Demand for Programs. AGUA CALIENTE, Mexico, Nov. 29. There is every reason to believe that the newly organized Baja California Jockey Club is on the road to the most successful meeting ever staged at the famous Agua Caliente track, since the days of prohibition in the States. The nationally known resort was a mecca for thousands of racing fans during the past week, and if Sundays turnout is an index, the historic plant should be packed to capacity each week-end when the sport will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays. The liberal prize offered by The Jockey Club for those selecting the most winners is sure to become more popular as the meeting progresses. Many thousands of patrons tried their luck last Sunday. Programs sold so rapidly it was next to impossible to supply those seeking them so they could deposit their selections at the designated time. It was unfortunate for one N. B. Marshall, who selected six of the seven winners and would have received the award of ,000. He was not available when called on to receive his checlr, so according to rule number ten governing the contest, the ,000 was divided among twenty-one contestants who tied with five winners and each received 0.90 for their skill. One lady won two shares of the pool, having submitted two sets of selections. The four days of racing presented was featured by consistency in a big way. The favorites scored in eleven of the thirty-three events staged, while the same number of second choices reached the finish line in front. Outsiders for the most part failed to reach the winners circle. Spirited contests prevailed in a majority of the races and no less than twelve photo finishes were witnessed during the opening four days. I The veteran trainer Frank R. Doyle led his rival conditioners by saddling three winners, while the following tied with two each: C. E. Brown, Jr., V. Veseley, E. Neal, Willie Molter and F. E. Childs.
