TANF0RAN TURF NOTES Ross Cooper, trainer for several prominent California stables, has purchased the contract on the good apprentice Albert Siler from N. B. McDonald. Siler has been riding well at Tanforan and many rate him on a par with Warren Van Tassel, the leading apprentice at the meeting. Little Otto Grohs, who was considered the outstanding apprentice at the Longacres meeting, crashed into the limelight by riding two long shot winners Friday. Twenty horses which have been racing at Tanforan in charge of trainer Ross Cooper, will be shipped to Santa Anita Sunday. Included in the lot are the horses of A. T. Jergins, William LeBaron, William H. Cutler, Arrowhead Stable, Julius Wild and Mrs. R. E. Cooper. Louis B. Mayer was a visitor at Tanforan Saturday. He came north to watch Mask and Wig and Flying Bonny carry his silks in the A. B. Spreckels Handicap. F. E. Fitzgerald has been appointed trainer of the horses of Neil McCarthy. He succeeds T. Grimes who gave up conditioning of the animals to devote his full time to the Louis B. Mayer string. Jockey Tim Sena has been ordered to report to his contract employer Dan-ell Cannon at Santa Anita next Wednesday. Will Do has been added to the stewards barred list because of lameness. !
