ASK FOR GERMAN REASSURANCE BERLIN, Germany, Dec. 12. Great Britain and France today formally called on Germany for re-assurances in connections with the situation at Memel, Lithuania, where a Nazi victory in the local elections was seen as presaging possible anschluss with the Reich. The British charge d affaires and the French ambassador, acting independently of each other, called on the German foreign office today with the requests for re-assurance.
